ABOUT KINETIC
A career spent finding the truth hidden between systems.
A career spent finding the truth hidden between systems.
I’m Alfred McNair, founder of Kinetic Scale Partners.
For more than 15 years, I’ve worked inside complex organizations where systems, data, processes, and teams stopped telling the same story.
Different industries. Different technologies. Remarkably similar problems.

Kinetic was built from a simple belief: meaningful transformation can’t begin until an organization has a version of reality its people can trust. Before adding technology, automating workflows, or redesigning processes, we first have to understand what’s actually happening—and why.

01 / WHY OPERATIONAL TRUTH
Operational Truth isn't a framework.
It's something I learned to look for.

Operational Truth isn't a framework. It's something I learned to look for.
Early in my career, I noticed a pattern.
Smart people were often being asked to solve problems without access to a reliable picture of the problem itself. Systems disagreed. Reports arrived too late. Definitions changed between departments. Processes that looked functional from the executive level broke down completely when you followed them to the people actually doing the work.
And the consequences weren't abstract.
I've watched talented people lose budget, credibility, and sometimes their jobs while making decisions from information that was incomplete or simply wrong.
That stayed with me.
I became almost compulsive about establishing a trustworthy baseline before trying to improve anything. Because once people can see the same reality, something changes: conversations get easier. Blame gives way to diagnosis. Technology decisions become clearer. And extraordinarily capable people can finally solve the problems they were hired to solve.
As enterprise systems have become more interconnected, that challenge has only become harder—and more consequential.
That's what I mean by Operational Truth. And it's why I built Kinetic Scale Partners.

02 / DIFFERENT INDUSTRIES - FAMILIAR PATTERNS
I've seen the patterns before.

03 / HOW I WORK
I don't believe transformation should create dependency.
I don't believe transformation should create dependency.
My role isn't to arrive with a predetermined answer. It's to ask enough questions to understand how the business actually works—especially where the documented process and lived process diverge.
That means talking to executives and operators. Following data back to its source. Understanding why workarounds exist before eliminating them. Challenging assumptions without assigning blame.
And designing solutions around the people who will still be there after the engagement ends.
Sometimes the answer is new technology.
Often it isn't.

Four principles have shaped how I engage with clients and build transformations that last.

01 / Understand
Diagnose before prescribing.
02 / Iterate
Use what's already working.
03 / Co-Create
Design with operators, not around them.

Some transformations clearly impact the entire organization. Others feel small at first. I've build a career finding opportunities, big and small to optimize critical workflows & platforms to drive uncommon change.
